PASTOR GRACE RIVERA
Ordained in 1995, Pastor Grace will celebrate 30 years in ministry in June. She has served in both districts of the Caribbean Synod, including as pastor in the three-cluster churches of Puerto Rico: San Esteban Martir in Bayamón, Buen Pastor in the Metro Area, and Ascensión in the Toa Area. Additionally, she served at Frederick Lutheran Church in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and worked as a mission developer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since 2017, she has been serving as interim pastor at Grace.
One of her passions is working with Women of the ELCA (WELCA) in women’s ministries and mentoring seminarians. She also enjoys various creative pursuits, including arts and crafts, painting, cooking, sewing, and reading. With a BA in English language and arts education, she takes joy in teaching and sharing knowledge. As a military spouse for 16 years, she developed a love for learning about different places and cultures.
Throughout her ministry, she has served many diverse communities. These experiences have deeply enriched her spirituality and broadened her worldview.
